The Wandsworth Society is a voluntary group concerned with the quality of landscape, transport and planning in and around Wandsworth Town and Wandsworth Common. The Society is non-party political and registered with the Charity Commission.
Our mission is to safeguard the character and quality of the built environment and protect the integrity of open spaces, rivers and their environs. We monitor planning decisions seeking to curb excessive or inappropriate development and we campaign for improved traffic management and public transport.
We are actively involved in the Wandsworth town centre regeneration partnership (WTCP) and fully support Agenda 21 for local sustainability.
The Society makes a difference
The Society has achieved a number of successes (sometimes in collaboration with other groups) including improved traffic management plans, preserving heritage buildings, safeguarding open space, and minimising over-development.

STOP PRESS - Our views are sought on the concept of the Wandle Valley's being shaped as a Regional Park as a long term project, but only until the end of March! To state your views and ideas and to learn what is planned so far, go to the interactive website www.WandleValleyPark.org.uk
